The Jane’s Addiction show in Boston Friday night was cut short after band members Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro came to blows on stage, prompting the band to make an apology online and possibly cancelling the rest of their tour.
Reports say that Farrell may have been upset about his vocal levels which may have led to the public confrontation with Navarro, who he tried to punch before having to be subdued before being led offstage. The rest of the band thanked the audience before walking offstage for the evening.
There had been reports that tensions may have been high between bandmates during earlier dates on the tour, including Tampa where Farrell was heard to speak in “many nonsensical rants” until Navarro had to interrupt with a loud chord from his guitar. The band has since apologized online and cancelled their next show in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
As of this writing, only the Bridgeport date has been cancelled. However the tour is scheduled to come to Milwaukee next Sunday at the BMO Pavilion. Love & Rockets and Crawlers are the opening acts.
