Wisconsin’s own Chris Farley would’ve been 60-years-old today. Chris passed a little over 26 years ago in a death that was equally shocking and yet predictable. But while he lived, Chris was the living embodiment of funny. In what was arguably the most talented cast in the history of Saturday Night Live, Farley stood out as the funniest.
One of my great regrets is that I couldn’t make it to an unscheduled surprise pop-up show to which I was invited at Green Bay’s old Funny Bone Comedy Club on January 12, 1997. Chris had brought some friends, including Adam Sandler and David Spade, to Green Bay for the NFC Championship game. After the Packers kicked the asses of the Carolina Panthers, Farley and his crew did a kick-ass celebratory show at The Bone, with Chris, Adam and Spade all taking turns at the mic. Friends in attendance said the club was electric that night and the show was amazing.
Before the end of that year, Chris would be dead.
What better way to memorialize Chris than taking a trip down memory lane with his friend Adam?
