KAUKAUNA, Wis–A man taken into custody following the discovery of a dead woman in a Kaukauna home has also died.
According to a statement from Kaukauna Police, officers found Jessica VanSyoc deceased inside a home along the 100-block of West 13th Street around 7:00 Saturday night. While two officers were trying to take VanSyoc’s husband, Eric, into custody, he became uncooperative and exhibited erratic behavior. After both officers used their tasers on VanSyoc, he experienced a medical episode and was taken to the hospital. He was later pronounced dead.
The Appleton Police Department is handling an investigation into Eric VanSyoc’s death. The names of the officers involved have not been released.
