We are heartbroken at the passing of the legendary Jimmy Buffett. The official announcement was made on his website and social media accounts saying:
“Jimmy Buffett passed away peacefully on the night of September 1st surrounded by his family, friends, music and dogs. He lived his life like a song till the very last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so many.”
Buffett’s history includes a 50-plus-year recording career that includes more than 30 albums along with restaurants, books, resorts, beer, a Broadway show, and a cruise line.
He struggled with an undisclosed health issue beginning in 2022 when he was hospitalized and forced to cancel a number of shows. In May and June 2023 he said that he was “back in the hospital to address some issues that needed immediate attention.”
Buffett released his final album “Life on the Flipside” in 2020.
