An engineer in England broke a world speed record when he took his motorized trash can out for a ride — and got the machine rolling at 55 miles per hour. Michael Wallhead bought the wheeled trash can online for $25 — and then dropped in a Suzuki two-stroke engine, installed magnesium go-kart wheels, a rear axle and a five speed gear box — among other features. His average speed of 54.9 miles per hour beat the old record of 45 miles per hour, which was set in May 2021. Wallhead expects to receive confirmation of the World record from Guinness in about three months.
If this doesn’t give you something to shoot for, I don’t know what to tell you.
