We are proud to name as this week’s Rick and Cutter Show Weenies of the Week, perhaps our most literal choice of all time…The Oscar Mayer Wiener Company who this week announced plans, after 87 years, to change the name of the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile to the Oscar Mayer Frankmobile. And they say, it’s not because people now have a problem with the word “wiener”.
The change is meant to promote a new recipe, which they’re rolling out this summer. The new formula for their All Beef Franks will feature quote, “a more balanced flavor profile and iconic beefy taste.”
So,
For changing the name of their wiener after over 80 years when the last person to do that was Biden, who after the election started calling his “the li’l commander and chief”.
For changing the name to Frankmobile when at least pig snout and cow lips mobile might be more honest.
And for not only changing the name of the Wienermobile but also their recipe, while our weenie of the week sponsor Salmon’s Meat Products have been making wieners since 1966 and haven’t felt the need to change their recipe because the “iconic beefy taste” of their wieners, yes, I said it, wieners not franks, have always had a balanced flavor profile. And why? Because their wieners are made with not just quality ingredients but also love and of course “wiener flavor”.
We are proud to name the Oscar Mayer Wiener Company as this week’s Rick and Cutter Show…WEENIE OF THE WEEK!
