Appleton is getting ready to host its annual Memorial Day Parade, which will take place on Monday, May 29 starting at 9 a.m.
The parade pays tribute to the men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the U.S. military. Each year, it draws hundreds of participants and thousands of spectators to Appleton.
If you plan on attending, you can find a spot along the parade route, which will start at the corner of College Avenue and Appleton Street and head east on College Avenue to Meade Street. The parade will then proceed north on Meade Street to Pacific Street, and finally east on Pacific Street – ending at the corner of Pacific Street and Owaissa Street.
Immediately following the parade, the “Moment of Remembrance” ceremony will take place at the George D. Eggleston Monument in Riverside Cemetery.
