A pet zebra nearly bit the arm off his owner in Ohio on Sunday.
72-year-old Ronnie Clifton owns a farm / tourist attraction located in Circleville, Ohio with several zebras on it.
And, yes, it’s legal to own zebras in Ohio.
On Sunday, a large male zebra attacked Clifton in a field. Reports say the male zebra was being overly protective/territorial of some female zebras that were there.
Police were called to the scene. When they arrived they saw that the zebra had nearly ripped off Clifton’s arm. Sadly, police had to put the zebra down after it got too close to them and Ronnie’s family as they were tending to the injured Clifton.
Doctors were later able to save Clifton’s arm.
