FOND DU LAC, Wis–Valentines Day was sweet for a sturgeon spearer on Lake Winnebago. James Gishkowsky speared an 80-inch, 177-pound female sturgeon on Lake Winnebago Tuesday.
According to the D-N-R, that is the 7th-largest sturgeon ever harvested on the Winnebago system. The female was also full of black eggs, and likely would have spawned this spring.
