This is not your father’s US Army band. Well, at least not MY father’s. Back in the day, the US Army band was known for playing Sousa marches and patriotic tunes. God Bless America. The Stars and Stripes Forever. She’s a Grand Old Flag. Maybe even a little Yankee Doodle. Today, they are so much more. Today they are not just playing tunes, they are even fighting foo!
As much as I enjoyed all of the performances (especially the vocal by Staff Sat. Bethsaida Patterson on Walk), I couldn’t help but feel they should’ve saved Learn to Fly for the Air Force band
Check out this fantastic medley of tunes from the Foo Fighters; Times Like These, Walk, Learn to Fly, and My Hero as performed by The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own”.
