Three-and-a-half decades is enough for Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce President and CEO John Casper. He informed the chamber’s board of directors March 25 that he will retire by the end of 2022. Casper joined the Oshkosh Chamber in 1987 as Director of Commercial Development. He tells WHBY News he believed he would be with the chamber for only two or three years. Casper went to become the longest tenured chamber of commerce chief in Wisconsin. He says working with the chamber on the I-41 expansion and helping Oshkosh Corporation develop a new headquarters building are among the accomplishments he’s proud to have been involved with. Casper says while he loves Oshkosh, his retirement plans include wintering in warmer climates during most of the winter. A Transition Committee has been established consisting of members of the Oshkosh Chamber Board of Directors to develop a process and succession plan to find a new President and CEO.
