An Indonesian teen is lucky to be alive after a needlefish (similar to our ‘garfish’) jumped out of the water and embedded itself in his neck while fishing with his family.
He was rushed to a local hospital where it took five doctors, three surgeons and two anesthetists two hours to successfully extract the fish’s snout.
The boy is expected to make a full recovery.
