Check out this video of Mike Campbell backstage along with John McFee of the Doobie Brothers performing what Mike calls one of his favorite songs that he ever wrote with Tom Petty, “Between Two Worlds.”
In other Tom Petty news, Tom’s childhood home in Gainesville, Florida was in the process of being sold and potentially becoming a Tom Petty museum earlier this year.
It turns out the new owner of the 12-hundred square foot home, built in 1952, is his first wife, Jane Benyo Petty.
She paid $175,000 for the home, telling The Gainesville Sun, “When I went to the house, it had changed and it didn’t look the same. But I thought we should have it in the family.” She adds that she plans to move back to Gainesville, but will not turn the home into a museum.
The only thing original from Petty’s time there is the pink tile in the bathroom.
