We are proud to name as this week’s Laura and Cutter Weenie of the week. The Oak Creek Neighbors United. A group made up of people who could only be named Karens and Kens. Oak Creek is a small town just south of Milwaukee, and it’s set to be the home of the only Buc Ees location in Wisconsin. Yes, Buc-ee’s, the giant Texas-based gas station/travel center chain famous for its 100 some gas pumps, wide variety of food including BBQ, retail, and more. Remember, everything is bigger in Texas. It’s like if 5 Kwik Trips merged together to become a super Kwik Trip, think of it like Voltron. Buc-ee’s is the Voltron version of Kwik Trip. Travelers from around the Midwest are excited and happy to have a giant Buc-ee’s being built off of I-94, but a few residents in Oak Creek are not. They formed a group called The Oak Creek Neighbors United and are now suing the city of Oak Creek over the planned zoning for the super gas center. The reason they say is basically because they’ll be able to see it through their wooded area in their back yards and past a farm field. That’s right 3 or 4 upper-middle-class people who live in a suburban community south of Milwaukee are mad that there will be a Buc-ee’s in eyesight from their backyards. What we don’t understand is why you wouldn’t want a place close enough to get your beaver nuggets, Texas-style BBQ, and Fudge? There is something in the zoning that the city approved that allegedly goes against the city ordinance. But do you have any idea how much money this place will bring into your town? Again, it’s the Voltron of Kwik Trips, put a beaver nugget in your mouth and shut it Karen, and put some fudge in Ken’s mouth too.
So for attempting to deny Wisconsin the Disney world of gas stations, for turning Wisconsin nice into Wisconsin Ice, and for complaining harder than Katy Perry’s management about a silly Wendy’s tweet about your stupid 7 minute space trip, we are proud to name the Oral Corn Nasty Ulcers because we couldn’t think of anything else that Oak Creek Neighbors United should stand for, as this week’s Weenie of the week.
