A stunt featuring the hero Yelena Belova in the upcoming Marvel Studios film Thunderbolts* would normally be done by a stunt double. However, the actress playing the character would have none of it.
During a scene in the film, Florence Pugh’s character of Yelena lets herself fall from the Merdeka 118 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysa. At 2,722 feet tall, the skyscraper is the world’s second tallest building. When Marvel Studios was ready to let a stuntperson perform the feat, Pugh stepped in and lobbied the studio to let her do the stunt herself. The clip below features the stunt at the beginning.
Thunderbolts* also stars Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Wyatt Russell. It opens in theaters May 2nd.
