Record Store Day has become a holiday for the hardcore music fan, the kind that buys and collects the oldest of the music medium, vinyl. Every April, there is a collection of exclusive and first-time releases from the legends to new artists. This year sees stuff from The Doors, Judas Priest, Grateful Dead, Papa Roach, and one of the releases we’re most excited for: Black Stone Cherry’s This is Black Stone Cherry’s RSD Release…The Band Really Likes it. The name is a play on a classic Howlin’ Wolf album, and it’s deep the band’s southern rock groove. It features live versions of their songs, one-off singles with friends, and a couple of incredible cover versions of classics by Tina Turner and The Cult.
