We are proud to name as this week’s Laura Lee & Cutter Weenie of the Week, Milwaukee Bucks forward, Bobby Portis. Bobby, a key player in the Bucks roster, scoring, on average 13.7 points per game, was suspended on Thursday for 25 games for violating the league’s anti-drug policy.
Apparently while dealing with an elbow injury, he was using an approved medication for pain and inflammation, however, also took another pain pill that was not approved. Bobby thought he was taking TORADOL, which is approved, but instead took TRAMADOL, which is not.
Now Bobby said he made an honest mistake and I do believe him. Both medications start with T. The problem is, that tramadol is an opioid medication, which is a no-no within the league.
My issue is that you’re telling me, there wasn’t one doctor, agent, manager, athletic trainer, or towel boy that could have double-checked what drugs a highly paid athlete was putting into his body?
If I’m aware that I could get into a lot of trouble based on what drugs I take, I’m double-checking (not to be confused with double dribbling) with someone else to make sure I’m doing the right thing. With only 29 games remaining in the regular season for the Bucks, this means he’ll miss all but 4 games. The Bucks are currently 30-24, let’s hope this won’t hinder their ability to stay within playoff contention.
So for abandoning his teammates like a dad who’s just going out for cigarettes, for popping pills like mentos, (the suspension maker) and for now having too much time on his hands like the band Styx, we are proud to name the suspended scandalous sloppy superstar, Bobby Portis as this weeks, Laura Lee & Cutters Weenie of the Week.
