Oklahoman Clem Reinkemeyer boasts a collection of 8,882 different bricks – these are ACTUAL bricks NOT LEGO bricks – which in LEGO brick count terms would fall somewhere between the Millennium Falcon and the Titanic sets.
Reinkemeyer now officially has the title of world’s largest collection of bricks.
It took his daughter, his son-in-law and a group of friends to sneak into Clem’s brick barn and document each and every one in his collection which dates back as far as Roman brick from A.D. 100.
But why bricks?
Clem said bricks interest him because of the history they hold. “What appealed to me about bricks is, they have names and you can trace them back historically to places, and that always intrigued me. Its unusual, but I like it.”
