Sammy Hagar just BID bye-bye birdie to another classic car from his amazing collection.
This time it’s a 1962 Ford Thunderbird that belonged to the late Ronnie Montrose. Hagar says Ronnie used to drive them to shows in it.
The ’62 T-Bird was completely restored by Hagar and it just sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona this past Friday for $63,000.
Proceeds will go to suicide prevention in memory of Montrose, who took his life in 2012 at 64.
Below you can see the final ride of the T-Bird on January 17th, Hagar drove the car for the last time when, along with his passengers — Michael Anthony, guitarist Vic Johnson and drummer Kenny Aronoff — he drove it into the WestWorld of Scottsdale arena for his performance at Barrett-Jackson’s Rock the Block concert.
