Of all the accidents that happen or could happen on the roadways, semi truck vs. an antique 1962 plane wouldn’t be on my BINGO card – unless it happened in Oshkosh during EAA. But that’s exactly what happened when a semi-trailer struck a 1962 USAF plane near Madison. O.K. it was a stationary display plane located outside a VFW… but still.
The accident happened at Stoughton VFW Post #328.
Stoughton police say the driver (a 32-year-old Massachusetts resident) was cited with hit & run thanks to a quick-thinking witness who got the license plate number.
Sadly the VFW had just completed a construction project and was about to reopen – assumedly a drive-thru wasn’t part of the renovations.
