Here are some releases that look worthwhile to us here at WAPL.
The Beatles – “All My Loving” 3-inch record, “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” b/w “I Saw Her Standing There” 7-inch single. These reissues mark 60 years since the Fab Four came to the U.S.
The Byrds/Buffalo Springfield – Live at the Monterey International Pop Festival – 2-LP. This documents the weekend where David Crosby played in both bands.
Phil Collins – Live From the Board… The Official Bootleg – 10-inch EP. This collects tracks from his 1994 Both Sides tour.
The Doors – Live in Detroit The Doors – 4-LP. The Doors’ performance from Cobo Arena, May 8, 1970 is one of the longest concerts in their history.
Garbage – copy/paste – LP. This collects the various covers they’ve done over the years, include takes on songs by David Bowie, Ramones, Patti Smith, U2 and Psychedelic Furs.
Jimi Hendrix – Songs for Groovy Children: The Fillmore East Concerts – LP. This has highlights of the Band of Gypsys playing at New York’s Fillmore East on New Year’s Eve 1969 and New Years Day 1970
Jane’s Addiction – “Imminent Redemption” – 12-inch single. This has the title track and their other new song, “True Love.”
Pearl Jam – “Waiting for Stevie”/”Wreckage” – 12-inch single. These live cuts were recorded back in May.
Stone Temple Pilots – Purple Rarities – LP. This has selections from the Super Deluxe Edition of Purple released five years ago.
U2 – How to Re-Assemble an Atomic Bomb – LP. The alternate album from the recent box set gets released as a stand alone LP.
Van Halen – Live in Dallas 1991 – 2-LP. This features the free concert the band did on December 4th, 1991.
Yes – Fragile Outtakes – LP. This has rare early recordings, alternative song versions, and new mixes of songs from the 1971 album.
