In 1994, I joined my first gigging band, The Pinfeathers. I was 14 years old and already learning all about punk rock. Sure we had Green Day and The Offspring and I had to dig back and listen to The Ramones and The Sex Pistols, but the underground was calling me. I soon learned of bands like Bad Religion, Rancid, Pennywise, etc. I was hooked. In 1996 I started a punk rock band called No Distinction and now that I had my license and could drive, we lived at the Concert Cafe in Green Bay. As a teenager in that scene, I was watched of the best that Green Bay had to offer like Boris The Sprinkler, or Vaccum Scam.
As a teen I really dug into the history of music especially that of hard rock, metal, and of course punk rock, so when I learned of a documentary film being made about the history of punk in my hometown? I had to follow along. I donated to the crowdfunding in 2015 of the still-in-production documentary called Green Blah! The History of Green Bay Punk Rock and now the movie is done. With screenings scheduled at The Tarlton Theater this weekend and at upcoming film fests, filmmaker Chris Pretti joined Laura Lee and I (well really just me, Laura just sat back and listened,) this morning.
