We are proud to name as this week’s Weenie of the week Green Bay Packer Wide receiver Romeo Doubs. The term “conduct detrimental to the team” is not something you want to hear about a player on your favorite team. That’s a term we’re used to hearing coming out of Dallas or Chicago, not Green Bay! Since being drafted by the Packers Romeo has seemingly been a quit just show up and do your job kinda guy. And he’s done that job well! In fact, after Watson was injured you’d think he’d have even more opportunities to do that job but instead, Romeo was suspended for one game after reportedly not showing up to work last week. With rumors swirling that he wasn’t happy with his role and that he wasn’t getting enough targets. Dude, you had a backup quarterback in the lineup who barely knew the offense! What did you expect? 12 targets with 11 receptions for 130 yards and two scores? You’ve proven you only do that in the playoffs. And trust me we as fans are thankful for those dominating plays but the team needs you man! But only if you want to be here.
Obviously, we don’t know all the details and there’s always more to the story than what we know, but we can only come up with opinions based on the information provided. So you just might owe Packer nation an explanation otherwise Lambeau Field may become Romeo’s lament instead of Romeo’s delight. Remember as Shakespeare said No legacy is so rich as honesty.
So for causing more drama in a Lambeau locker since Aaron showed the media his toe, for punching a hole in fans’ hearts deeper than the hole that ODell punched in that playoff loss in 2018, and for being an even more dramatic Romeo than the one Shakespeare wrote about in the late 1500s, we are proud to name O Romeo, Romeo wherefore art though Romeo Doubs as this week’s Weenie of the week.
