TWO RIVERS, WI — The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s office is investigating the discovery of skeletal remains of a small child found Saturday by a deer hunter on private property. That’s led to speculation that they may be those of three-year-old Elijah Vue, who went missing in February. The sheriff’s office says it has no information on the age, race or sex of the child’s remains. The area where the remains were located is near Girl Scout Camp Manitou-Two Rivers. That’s close to a home where Elijah Vue, his mother, Katrina Baur and her boyfriend, Jesse Vang lived. Both Baur and Vang are charged with child neglect in connection with Vue’s disappearance. They’ve also denied knowledge of his disappearance with Vang telling police that Vue might have snuck out while Vang was napping. The sheriff’s office says identifying the remains will likely be a lengthy process.
