APPLETON, Wis. — Phase 1 of the Lundgaard Park project in Appleton is nearing completion.
City officials say the playground featuring firefighter-themed equipment is ready for use.
Visitors can access the playground from Ashbury Drive, as Lightning Drive is still under construction.
Meanwhile work on the pickleball and basketball courts is almost done.
The park is named in honor of Mitch Lundgaard, an Appleton firefighter who was killed in the line of duty in May of 2019.
