It wasn’t Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts or Freddie Freeman that was the star in last night’s Dodgers – Diamondbacks game in Phoenix, Arizona.
Instead – before the game even started – the true M.V.P. or M.V.B. (Most Valuable Beekeeper in this case) was a pest control beekeeper named Matt Hilton.
Hilton was the crowd-pleaser as he was called in from the Beepen in relief duty as a large swarm of bees gathered on the backstop delaying the beginning of the game.
After he was done pitching a 1… 2… Bee… inning… officials let Hilton take the field, remove his beekeeper hat, and throw out the first pitch!
The @Dbacks rewarded beekeeper Matt Hilton with a ceremonial first pitch!
