The 2024 class of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame was announced Sunday night featuring a few WAPL artists getting the nod.
Foreigner, Ozzy Osbourne (as a solo artist) and Peter Frampton are among this year’s inductees. Others being inducted in the Performer category include The Dave Matthews Band (who was first in fan voting), Cher, Mary J. Blige, Kool & The Gang and A Tribe Called Quest. Inductees in the Musical Excellence category include Jimmy Buffett, Detroit punk rockers The MC5, Dionne Warwick and Norman Whitfield. John Mayall, Big Mama Thornton and British rocker Alexis Korner will be inducted under the Musical Influence category.
The Dave Matthews Band led in fan voting by a wide margin when the online voting ended on April 15th. In fact, most of the inductees in the Performer category were in the top seven spots in fan voting. This will be Ozzy Osbourne’s second Hall of Fame induction as he was already inducted with Black Sabbath in 2006.
A ceremony to officially induct all the artists will be held later this year.
