A piece of movie-related memorabilia owned by the late Burt Reynolds is up for auction this weekend. The car – a 1977 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am similar to one used in the Smokey and the Bandit film franchise – will be offered during this weekend’s Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach, Florida. According to the auction description, the Trans Am was “carefully restored by Bandit Movie Cars in Florida to Mr. Reynolds’ specifications. Every detail was thought out and discussed with Mr. Reynolds from the correct antenna to the proper tires from the movie.”
The Barrett-Jackson auction starts tomorrow (April 18th) and goes through Saturday. It will be televised on FYI and The History Channel as well as live-streamed at Barrett-Jackson.com.
