How about this for a promposal, getting actor Kevin Bacon to go to your high school prom.
There are special circumstances for Bacon accepting the invitation.
(A) It’s Payson High School in Utah – the school where the movie ‘Footloose‘ was filmed 40 years ago and (B) the school is scheduled for demolition at the conclusion of this year.
The Payson student body spent the better part of the year using the hashtag #BacontoPayson on social media, re-creating scenes from the movie with a life-sized Bacon cut-out to entice the actor to visit.
Bacon announced on the “Today Show” recently he accepted the invitation and will be attending prom day (April 20th) at the high school.
Payson High Student Council Advisor Jenny Staheli told local news station KSL that the prom’s theme is appropriately “Footloose,” and it will be decorated like an 80s prom.
And, to sweeten the deal, the school will also be hosting an event on prom day to benefit Bacon’s charity, SixDegrees.org.
