Whatever happened to popping in a movie when the teacher got bored of teaching?
A chemistry teacher from Albuquerque, New Mexico decided that the best way to teach her class about metal and melding was to to set aside the test tubes and bunsen burners and bring out some actual swords into the classroom – and (wrongly) thought it was a good idea.
It happened in 2022, but a civil suit was just filed on behalf of one of the students that was injured during the lesson.
It was basically Fight Club in the classroom – where desks were arranged into a fighting ring – two students walk in and for two minutes begin sword fighting.

The kids got a little too overzealous with the swords (shock!) and one girl severed multiple nerves and tendons in her wrist, and had to have surgery.
The teacher got fired two months later.
The girl’s family is seeking an undisclosed amount in the lawsuit.
