WAPL has been selected as a finalist for Radio Station of the Year as part of the 2024 Bay Area Music Awards (BAMMYs)!
The BAMMY Awards aim to celebrate the musical talent across our community, featuring local bands, musicians, performers, radio stations, and other industry professionals across 25 categories. Nominations for these awards are made by the public and were open until February 1st.
Taking place at the Tarlton Theatre in Green Bay on Thursday, March 21st, and hosted by Frank Hermans, the event promises an unforgettable evening filled with live music performances and special guest appearances.
In an interview with WFRV, owner of Green Bay’s Tarlton Theatre, Tarl Knight, highlighted why the BAMMYs were created. He said, “In terms of recognizing our community, here’s an opportunity where we can honor all of the different musical contributors in our community. We’ve got musicians, performers, people in music production, folks in producing live music as well. So there’s a lot that we can do in order to honor people in our community at a really local level.“
The BAMMYs are open to musicians, performers, and music industry professionals from Marinette, Oconto, Brown, Kewaunee, and Door Counties. With categories ranging from original artist and album of the year to guitarist, pianist, drummer, and of course, radio station of the year, there’s something for everyone.
Tickets for the event are now available, offering attendees a chance to enjoy an evening complete with dinner, drinks, and, of course, outstanding live music performances. You can get them here.
We are humbled and honored to be a finalist in these awards and are so happy to see local talent being recognized! Additionally, we’re happy to share that our sister station, Razor 94.7 | 104.7, has also been named as a finalist for Radio Station of the Year! May the best station win..
