This week’s Saturday Night Live was hosted by comic Shane Gillis. It included a sketch based on the idea that our electronic devices are listening to everything we say. Not a bad concept for a sketch.
However, they chose to use Green Bay Packer fandom as a way to illustrate that point in a comedic fashion. According to an X account called NFC North News, some Packer fans were so offended by the sketch that they’re demanding that NBC and SNL take it down from their website and remove it from future airings.
They claim some have gone so far is to call it “racist“. It seems to me that it could only be racist if being a Green Bay Packer fan was, in fact, a race.
For my part, I thought it was pretty funny. How about you? Are you, as a Packer fan, offended by this sketch?
