STOCKBRIDGE, Wis–A meeting in Calumet County tonight (Monday) will focus on the potential listing of the lake sturgeon as an endangered species. The designation would put at risk the Lake Winnebago system’s sturgeon spearing season.
A number of state and federal lawmakers have expressed opposition to the listing, citing the health and management of the Wisconsin fishery. Tonight’s meeting starts at 7:00 at Stockbridge High School.
