MENASHA, Wis–Former Menasha Fire Chief Pat O’Brien has died. O’Brien passed away on Thursday at the age of 76, after a short battle with cancer.
O’Brien first started working for the department in 1968. He was named Chief in 1998. In 2002, O’Brien was named Wisconsin’s Fire Chief of the Year.
He retired in 2003, after helping the merger of the Menasha and Neenah Fire Departments.
