Eagles co-founder Randy Meisner has died.
The longtime bassist’s death was announced by the band through their website Thursday. According to the statement, Meisner was suffering from COPD – a respiratory ailment – and passed the previous evening.
Meisner (second from the left) was an original member of the Eagles and had a hand in writing many of the group’s songs. Prior to The Eagles, Meisner worked with Rick Nelson and Poco. WAPL supported Meisner during his solo career playing album cuts from One More Song in 1980 and his self-titled release in 1982.
