Dozens of adorable dachshunds took to the track for the 26th Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals at Los Alamitos Race Course in California.
The race for the ‘Wiener Circle’ featured dozens of long dogs with short legs running 50-yard trial heats before the final championship race to crown the top dog which was Beenie Von Weenie.
Beenie’s owner, Nicolee Leonard was overjoyed saying, “Fantastic! I’ve been coming every year and he nailed it!”
For his effort, Beenie won a doghouse, $1,000 and MOST importantly the title, ‘The Fastest Wienie of the West!’
The race also served as a fundraiser for the Seal Beach Animal Care Center.
