Obviously the circumstances are tragic … but our collective fascination (macabre as it may be) with the OceanGate / Titan Sub disaster keeps manifesting itself in weird ways.
Here’s today’s manifestation.
A 2009 clip from “Mythbusters” has gone viral, because it shows what happens to the human body during an UNDERWATER IMPLOSION.
The Mythbusters team (literally) Frankensteined a fake person out of PIG PARTS (bones, muscle, fat, skin, and guts) and they put it in an old-timey diving suit.
They then sunk ‘Frankenpig’ 300 feet underwater and let nature . . . and pressure . . . take its course… which is pretty brutal ANNNNNNND ugh! The pressure caved-in the metal diving helmet and basically liquified “Frankenpig”- think ‘stomach-in-the-helmet’ kind of pressure.
The experiment tested at 135psi – in comparison – the depths of the OceanGate / Titan Sub disaster and the location of the titanic would be around an implosion at 5,600-6,000psi.
(Cue “My Heart Will Go On“)
I keep hearing reporters ask about bodies, well.

This is the effect on a “a human shaped dummy made of pig parts w/ bones muscle fat skin & mid section of guts.” at 135psi in comparison, the depths of the titanic would be around an implosion at 5,600-6,000psi.
