APPLETON, Wis–College Avenue in downtown Appleton will start going on its “road diet” July 10th. That is when crews will start a lane reconfiguration project between Memorial Drive and Drew Street.
Public Works Director Danielle Block says they are working with Appleton Downtown Incorporated on an outreach program to help drivers navigate the new layout…………….
The lane reconfiguration should be done by mid-July. College will remain open, with lane closures during that time.
The road diet will feature two lanes of traffic–one in each direction–with a turn lane in the middle, two bike lanes, and curbside parking. This is part of an 18-month pilot project, after which a determination will be made on making the new lane structure permanent.
