Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson, who flew the band around the world on their own Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet “Ed Force One” shared some thoughts on the iconic aircraft with Reuters. Last week Boeing made its last 747 as it moves into the future.
After describing it as “stately” and “imposing” on the ground, Dickinson called the plane “surprisingly agile” in the air and said that for “this massive airplane, you can really chuck it around if you have to.” He concluded that it was “the most beautiful and easy plane to land — just like landing an armchair.”
During the Book of Souls world tour in 2016, Bruce took a crew through Ed Force One and talked about piloting the band’s plane.
