This month U2 received the Kennedy Center Honors for their contributions to the performing arts and contributions to American culture. This makes them just the fifth musical group to be so honored. They follow in the footsteps of The Who, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, and Earth, Wind and Fire.
Due to the band’s legendary charitable work around the world, the Kennedy Center Honors people could have chosen from hundreds of world leaders or dignitaries with whom the band has interacted to salute them. They chose to go another way. Whoever made that choice, deserves a raise!
