NEW LONDON, WI — The New London Public Library gets yet another gift from First State Bank. Earlier this year, First State announced it’s building a new corporate headquarter and donating its building on North Water Street to the library’s expansion project. Now, First State announces a $50,000 donation for the library expansion. First State Bank President and C-E-O Bob Van Asten says the company hopes to generate more community interest.
“The library’s vision to develop an innovative library and community resource center will be a catalyst in transforming New London’s downtown and will benefit the entire New London community,” Van Asten said. “There are many community members and businesses who have already made significant contributions to the library project; we hope others will join us in supporting this vision.”
The New London Public Library is expected to take ownership of the current First State Bank building after the bank’s new headquarters is completed later in 2023.
