HOWARD, Wis–A second child has died from influenza in Wisconsin. The Howard-Suamico School District has identified the victim as Ava Schmidt–a 14-year old freshman at Bay Port High School.
A Go Fund Me page created by the family to fund a memorial scholarship says Schmidt had been diagnosed with Influenza A and Strep B. The state Department of Health Services says this is the second child death due to the flu this season.
