This past summer I checked an item off my personal bucket list – walking across Abby Road (MACA-Style barefoot) in London. The studio itself is not open to the public – you have to have a certain musical acumen and bank account for that access. But now we don’t have to have either of those things… just Disney Plus.
A new documentary from Mary McCartney (Paul McCartney’s daughter) gives up that access and, as a bonus, interviews with some of the biggest names to ever record at the famous studio. Including; Sir Elton John, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Noel Gallagher, Roger Waters, John Williams and more are just some of the luminaries of the music world that sit down and tell us why Abby Road Studios are so special.
Official Synopsis:
“If These Walls Could Sing,” a Disney Original Documentary, gives exclusive access to the most famous and longest-running studio in the world, Abbey Road Studios. In this personal film of memory and discovery, director Mary McCartney guides us through nine decades to tell the stories of some of the studio’s most iconic recordings — and the people who made them happen.”
If These Walls Could Sing streams December 16 on DisneyPlus.
