APPLETON, Wis. — An Appleton family is hoping to find a kidney donation for their two-year-old son.
Little Arlo was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease at birth, which has now become end stage renal failure. Liz Austin and her husband Maxwell Lesatz are not eligible to be candidates for kidney donation for Arlo.
His mom Liz writes, “We’ve spent weeks admitted at Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee, he’s had 12 procedures before his second birthday, and for the past 6 months he’s been on peritoneal dialysis, in our home, every night.”
If you are interested in being a potential organ donor and your blood type is either A or O (+ or -), please call (414) 805-0310. Calling begins a commitment-free process of answering a few simple general health questions.
“We are heartbroken we cannot do it ourselves and are incredibly gracious to anyone who even considers being a donor. If you’re not a blood type match or not comfortable with being a donor, please consider sharing this to help us find a match for Arlo,” Liz writes.
The family has set up a Go Fund Me page to help with costs associated with Arlo’s treatments.
