Ten years ago, an area woman went viral on YouTube after launching an amazing rant about not being able to find a couple specific three-wick scented candles at area Bath and Body Works locations and what she claimed was a horrible experience with Jen, the manager of the location at Fox River Mall. Well, now a decade later, the video has gone viral AGAIN!
A TikTok-er Kimmy Monte has, for reasons unknown, recreated the epic rant audibly lip-syncing along the the entire thing. Every word, every gesture, every facial expression, every nuance recreated in perfect detail. How viral has it gone. I became aware of it when Patton Oswalt retweeted it yesterday.
Even better, the candle lady got wind of the recreation video and reacted. In her reaction, on our last posted video on this page, she FINALLY gives us closure and reveals what happened when she called the Bath and Body Works consumer report line a decade ago. The closure begins at about the 1:30 mark after she praises Hot Tamale candies and denies rumors that she is planning to euthanize her dogs (WTF?).
Also, in the interest of full disclosure, I should mention that I did go as her the Children’s Hospital Benefit Halloween party that year.
