I never thought I’d see a movie trailer that featured images of such iconic Appleton locations as Jim’s Place and Jacob’s Meat Market. But, here we are.
In 2019, Molly Preston, a Portland, Oregon-based director, producer, and editor returned to Appleton where she had lived for seven years. Molly came back to shoot a movie that she had started writing while living in the Fox Valley, and set, in of all places, Freedom. The movie is not so coincidentally, titled Freedom, WI.
After shooting in the area off and on between April of 2019 to September 2021, the film is now in post production. Take a look at the trailer. It even features a tune by our friends in DUSK and shots of their talented singer Julia Blair.
