Freddie Purr-cury would be proud.
YouTube songstress/composer Shirley Șerban has created a cat-centric, purrfect parody of Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ titled “Bohemian Catsody” – A Rhapsody Parody Song for Every Cat Queen and King!
Serban says about her latest feline-inspired work; Cats are royalty. We are their willing servants. Bohemian Catsody – enjoy a parody song of the Queen classic, Bohemian Rhapsody, this time, all about CATS!
In his memoir Mercury and Me, Freddie’s onetime partner Jim Hutton wrote about Freddie’s love for cats:
“Freddie treated the cats like his own children. He would constantly fuss over them, and if any of them came to any harm when Freddie was away, heaven help us. During the day the cats had the run of the house and grounds, and at night one of us would round them up and bring them inside.”
Mercury at one time had ten cats of his own and named them: Tom, Jerry, Goliath, Lily, Miko, Tiffany, Dorothy, Oscar, Romeo and Delilah.
A very clever, funny work indeed.
