In an energy packed Fiserv Forum, the Bucks defeated the Phoenix Suns 105 to 98 to claim their first NBA title since 1971.
It was electric outside in the Deer District Tuesday night, with up to 65,000 fans watching on the big screen. Inside 17,000 fans witnessed Finals MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo lift the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy.
“I want to thank Milwaukee for believing in me,” Antetokounmpo said. “I want to thank my teammates, man. They played hard every fricking game. I trusted this team. I wanted to do it here in this city. I wanted to do it with these guys. I’m happy. I’m happy we were able to get it done.”
