The band Pearl Jam is of course one of the biggest rock bands in history. The legendary grunge band’s debut Ten came out in 1991 and they never looked back. Of course there would then be tribute bands out there. One such band out of London, England started in 2016 and didn’t do much to differentiate from the original band by calling themselves Pearl Jamm instead of Pearl Jam. That’s two m’s instead of one.
Now Pearl Jam’s lawyers have sent cease and desist letters to the band Pearl Jamm demanding that they not only stop using the name but also hand over domain names, email addresses, and even merch. The letter states that the tribute band are “damaging the Pearl Jam brand and causing confusion.”
In a post to Facebook the band wrote an open letter to the real Pearl Jam
To Eddie, Jeff, Stone, Mike, Matt, Boom; to Pearl Jam, you have broken our hearts.
You have known of our tribute band…
