The fines for marijuana possession in Appleton are going down.
The city council approved a measure that reduces a first offense from $250 dollars to $50 dollars. Second and third offenses will be $100 dollars.
Supporters of the measure initially wanted fines dropped to $5 for the first offense and $10 for any offense after that.
